first shred in a few months too many

went for a board on snow last weekend.   What a great concept.

buller with buddies.  me and 'was bad but now seems quite good' french.

Buller skyline shot from Merrijig -  looks like FALL, actually, is not far off FALL, but still winter.

blue sky and green leaves in the cosie town of Broadford.   i love the contrast and warmth in these colors.  When you look at this photo you can tell its been shot on a sunday!

backyarder's

I recently went to a friends' friends backyard rail jam.  These generally mean utter disappointment and wet socks.
This set up was fun, people were high and happy.  Cheers for the invite boomby.

french MUFF

My brother is living in paris again, spending his time recording music and being interesting.  his emails are now completely in french, which makes them semi pontless, however, i do see a point to this when 'chasing the ellusive french muff'.
lucky prick.

no more (than) words

i want t be brief, but not obscure.

porno mags are the best reasons to chop down stupid trees.

with each day @ rush i move further away from the dream of returning to my idealised path.  (slightly dramatic.  actually, incredibly dramatic)

(deep breath)  (sigh)

trimming adventure

this weekend, i went to visit Howard (HooDog) and Nicole (skids) in Port macquarie.  heres a snapshot of the haps.

Day 1

This is jasper.  jasper was rescued from the pound (which is rad), shes from a litter of 12 pups (8 of which were put down for 'bad behaviour').  she is Clumsy, front paw heavy, indesperately disobedient, and loves the front of a longboard.  Great dog, and great addition to their family.

peeling right @ lighthouse.  surfed twice here in one day = beyond stoked.

Day two
a semi lazy start after a semi large night.  wine.  guitar heaven / hero.  we rolled up to crescent head around 10am.  etherical place, with or without swell.  so we surfed Back Beach.  super fun. it was my first longboard experience.  and i am hooked.....(cook get on board!)

the 3 intercontinental amigos.  @ racecourse @ sunset.

this crap house saved me from a 'two-coffee bushpoo'......I almost didnt make it.   according to locals, Goannas commonly attack people in this cubicle - but not using it was not an option. and two serviettes is kinda like a titty bar - never really enough.

Day 3

Yet another semi early rise, and off to Howards LONGBOARD Comp we went.  todays motto was 'not losing is the new winning' .  Congrats to Howard (5th).

on this adventure i re-learnt the importance of enjoying life.

and thus, this week-ended with that unmistakable mix of extreme fatigue and inspiration. Thanks for a great weekend guys!

'I dont think my ........ can handle it' (anonymous) 'u know how i love a mini bus' (me)

there and back again by...

Yet another work roadie.  a week of bad beds, un-met artwork deadlines, restaurant overdoses, mobile kangaroos, temperamental email servers...... and lots of beautiful things along the way to notice.

the view from Scammels Lookout, on the way to the NSW resorts (at the west side of the great alpine range).   its a beautiful spot, and we caught it just in time with good light and april snow!

a building in CIVIC Centre act that i seem to look at alot.  Theres lots of buildings in the world, but i seem to like this one.  clean, but not sterile.

i was manning the pedals, ingrid was womanning the wheel, and we snapped this.  Anzac Bridge on the way to Sydney CBD.  Good bridge, but it's fairly hard for a bridge in sydney to get much SUN if you know what i mean.

Manly After Dark.  moonlight is great for volleyball, sitting and watching, and apparently, surfing shorebreaks.  The people who live on those northern beaches are definitely pretty lucky.  Very nice digs.

whilst venturing out after THAI (4th thai meal that week) for an ice cream, I heard a ruckus from north beach WoolloonGONG.  inspection revealed a friday night gathering.  families having picnics, fire throwers, fire eaters, organic glow stick purveyors, and an incredible congo drum jam session.  i dont know what the gathering was about, but everyone there had a great time, myself included.  The kid above was on his way home, and the girl below is probably still there.

email is good, but does anyone miss the post man and his free rubber bands ?

I have moved in.  somewhat.  my first day in was aNZac day.  so cookies, champagne is disposables, new toys for pooch, and candles helped me ring in the new era.

a touch of surfing @ 'floors' - good localised break, sketchy take off, but lots of wall to play with.        but westcoast  shortboarders are so agro.

although you may be awarding points for what seems like a magazine edit / final proof (xoxo), I am spreading beat out to measure for seating requirements.

fig. 1a = couch & coffee (lamp) table

fig. 1b = dining table and fridge.

interest free is rad ...

somewhere to live is important, not as important as your space though

home sweet home. finally!
in what appears to be a beautifully unrelated sunset, it is a fire aided end to many a home (sweet home).  bush fire in the pine forest on the way home from Jindabyne.  i hope the animals are happy and safe wherever they are, they do not get txt message warnings you know?

the day after the 17th day of april

I am a big advocate for fruit for breakfast.  however, this movement does not work without coffee.  in which case, you spend the day starving.
but fruit for breakfast after a surf is awesome.  and - i love my webber. !

I am enchanted by the idea of being in the ocean,  adhering to your it's movements, reacting to its moods, and appreciating mother nature & her gifts.
capturing surfers prior to surfing is of considerable interest to me.  it represents complete distraction & a profound detachment from everything - good or bad; the world effectively stops (which is why christmas is so special).
in my opinion, we all need as many of these days as possible.

we named another break this weekend.  It's called CHODES = it's just between assholes and balls, both of which are titled appropriately.  Just lookers left of balls is Shafts (seconds), and lookers left of Shaft's is CHEFS.  Equal in etherical-ness? to Bells during the 50 year storm.

6 surfs in 6 days.  I love the easter swells on the West coast.

YES

A new project for sideways fun.

VERY BERRY

Berry is a place on the NSW coast, its very easy to drive thru whilst on route to elsewhere.  but this cliff was quit a sight.  excuse the self indulgent photo in the bottom left corner.

Great views (the ocean) always make me smile

weekend work is sometimes weekend play.

depends on your job i guess.  some Deeluxe stuff I enjoyed working on.

my 5/4/09

this collection of snaps accurately portrays my 5/4/2009.  everything i did revolved around one of these pictures, with the exception of after sun lotion application.

i chose to share the first picture because it helps me believe the world is round.  and maybe, i am not the only skeptic out there.
the two things being performed in the second picture are very important things.  but not often photographed.  1. watching the ocean before entering.  2. talking to other surfers.
the earth in the third picture is a nice little pot, @ Little Paddocks (Franks Beach).

Besides being impossibly sunburnt, What a Day.
(i hope when you read my entries, it is my voice in your head reading it aloud)
(so thanks for listening)
